Full commentary

It's time for the presentation

Gambhir: Once you get the momentum you've got to continue. How they played in the first over gave them momentum. We need to play smart cricket, some better cricket and hopefully we can win both our remaining games.

Hopkins: Bowlers are picked to do a job so I back them. We do have part timers, but didn't need them today. We got off to a good start with the bat and we left it to the master Mahmood to finish it off as well as he does.

Azhar Mahmood, predictably, is man of the match.

Mahmood: We bowled really well as a unit. We prepared really well, two weeks before the tournament and it's paid off. Martin Guptill and Louie started off really well and I was able to finish off. Hopefully I can keep my form going.

Thanks for joining through our ball-by-ball coverage. On behalf of Kanishkaa Balachandran, Sanjay Murari and myself, this is Andrew Fernando signing off.

08:35pm Great first-up win for Auckland and Mahmood is hitting some fearsome form. Two fifties on the trot now after having set the game up with the ball on both occasions.

That's Auckland's third emphatic win out of three, all achieved batting second. It might be a bit early to label them dark horses, but they have proved they are here to compete.

Rohit: "Guess you should've played the qualifiers KKR, you look a little out of practice!"
