Some of you have wondered why Dravid was given out when it pitched outside off stump. You can be given out when it pitches outside off stump. Only if he was struck outside the off stump when he was playing a shot he can not be given out. Here Dravid was playing the shot but he was struck on the line of off stump - about 60% of the ball was inside the mat at the point of impact.The ball might have pitched outside off but the key is the point of impact. So he can be given out and as virtual eye showed, it was hitting the middle stump. 200/4

He went down the track, was done in the flight, tried to adjust by going down on his knees and play the slog sweep but could only get it as far as deep midwicket. Laxman was on the back foot but he had not picked the ball, tried to adjust at the last minute by moving his wrists to the right side but the ball had gone past the waft by then to crash into the back pad. Again, Kumble had pressed that front foot too far across, tried to bring his bat around the pad but by then the ball had hit its target - the front pad and would have taken out the middle stump. Harbhajan was made to wait and he checked the drive and sent the ball straight back to the bowler. Wicket no 4 for Mendis. So this is his first ten-wicket haul in a Test match. It was the seaming bouncing delivery - holding its line around the off and middle stump line, Sangakkara took a half-step forward, jabbed at it hard and the outside edge was again held by Laxman at second slip. The ball dipped full on the boot. It hit him in the line and full; in those cases, you have to assume it goes straight with the angle. You take the spin out of the picture. Umpire reckoned it would have hit the off stump. The third umpire would have had a tricky time had the batsman gone for the review 131/7
