Peter Trego has all the qualities to be a top-notch performer. He gives the ball a hefty thump and is a brisk seamer who is often used at the death in limited-overs game, but has never quite fulfilled the natural talent he clearly has. One of his stand-out performances was the 54-ball hundred he slammed against Yorkshire, in 2009, as Somerset chased 476 to win at Taunton. Trego later called it "the innings of his life" and he is another player who improved under the leadership of Justin Langer. He is a former England Under-19 but has never pushed the selectors hard enough for further honours, although there was selection for the Hong Kong Sixes in 2009. Trego has also needed to move around, but has settled back where he started at Somerset after brief spells at Middlesex and Kent.
