South Africa A played out 56 overs in the fourth innings with the loss of only two wickets to deny Sri Lanka A a chance to square the two-match series. South Africa had beaten the visitors by an innings in the first match in Durban.

Sri Lanka A started the day with opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne, on 99 overnight, reaching his century in the first over of the morning with an off-drive to the boundary. Karunaratne, who had scored 83 in the first innings, went on to take Sri Lanka past 300 and completed 150 runs in the process. He declared the innings soon after, giving a target of 349 runs in a minimum of 71 overs to the home team.

South Africa A lost openers Dean Elgar and Reeza Hendricks with only 37 runs on the board, but Stiaan van Zyl, 39 off 140 balls, and Faf du Plessis, 55 off 120, combined together in an unbeaten 93-run partnership as the game meandered to a draw.

@tdslbuwa,its true chamara has struggled recently in international outings, but if u check the stats in cricinfo, he is the highest run scorer in the world in 1st class cricket in 2011, his average is in 80s and way ahead of the second, once touted as next aravinda when he got a brilliant century(against aussies?} to save a test, its a pity dat he keeps failing in international level!

Well played Dimuth Karunaratne...Anjelo Perera is very promising too.why selectors always give chances to Chamara Silva even with SA a team he is struggling ....while Banuka Rajapaksha was not playing. Is there any injury or something..? Hope to see Dimuth,Anjelo & Banuka in Indian tour of Sri Lanka...

Good come back by Sri Lanka, and plenty of promise in Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka badly in need of a solid opener as Paranawithana is going nowhere now.
