ICC World Twenty20 - 13th match, Group E

India v New Zealand

New Zealand won by 10 runs

9.56: Dr Beat's in full flow. The umpires are out. The Indians get together for a huddle. Lou Vincent and Brendon McCullum walk out. Sreesanth to start off. Right, time to start. ON ON!

9.45 am local time "As usual, plenty of Indian flags fluttering all over. New Zealand might not have much support for them today," says Rajesh.

Toss, 9.35 am Mahendra Singh Dhoni has won the toss and India will bowl. India have retained the same XI that won against Pakistan while New Zealand have brought in Jeetan Patel for Chris Martin.

India: 1 Virender Sehwag, 2 Robin Uthappa, 3 Gautam Gambhir, 4 Yuvraj Singh, 5 Dinesh Karthik, 6 Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wk), 7 Irfan Pathan, 8 Ajit Agarkar, 9 Harbhajan Singh, 10 RP Singh, 11 Sreesanth.

New Zealand: 1 Brendon McCullum (wk), 2 Lou Vincent, 3 Peter Fulton, 4 Ross Taylor, 5 Scott Styris, 6 Jacob Oram, 7 Craig McMillan, 8 Daniel Vettori (capt), 9 Shane Bond, 10 Mark Gillespie, 11 Jeetan Patel.

9.30 am We have visual confirmation of the lovely weather. "Another beautiful day at the Wanderers. Clear weather, not too hot. But the 10am start clearly is too early for most of the people here - there are vast empty spaces in the stands, though the grass bank is quite well populated."

9.15 am Hello everybody and welcome to Cricinfo's coverage of the first Super Eights' Twenty20 international between India and New Zealand at the Wanderers. I'm George Binoy and, along with Kanishkaa Balachandiran, will bring you the action as it unfolds in Johannesburg.

New Zealand were thrashed by Sri Lanka in their last group match while India prevailed in a bowl-out against Pakistan after a low-scoring contest at Kingsmead ended in a thrilling tie. But as S Rajesh says in his preview of this crucial match, "momentum counts for little in such a short format".

Unlike Durban where weather was always a worry during India's two group matches, it's a bright and sunny day in Johannesburg and the rain is far far away. Shane Bond copped a hammering against Sri Lanka yesterday, conceding 45 off his four overs, and though India's bowlers bowled impressively against Pakistan on a lively Durban pitch, they will have to step up their act today for the Wanderers has been full of runs so far.

The Wanderers is steadily filling in and there is plenty of support for India. The players are out on the field, taking part in fielding drills and warming-up.

We're about 35 minutes away from the start, you could spend that time getting into the Twenty20 mood by playing Slogout.
