Pakistan in West Indies ODI Series - 1st ODI

West Indies v Pakistan

Pakistan won by 126 runs

West Indies team is in the huddle. Shehzad and Jamshed walk out to open. Kemar Roach will bowl the first over

West Indies have won the toss, and will bowl first. They want to make use of a fresh pitch and overcast conditions. Jason Holder is in for Tino Best, and Dwayne Bravo is back and takes Devon Smith's place

Umar Akmal and Shahid Afridi are both back to the Pakistan XI. Umar will keep wicket too. Ahmed Shehzad will open the innings. And there is no Junaid. Asad Ali is in. First ball at 9.45am

9am Dion: "The Ashes is so hot I haven't even leave my house yet to go the the live game in Guyana" Expecting toss any time

8.45am An update coming in. The toss will be at 9am, and the match will start at 9.15am should there be no further rain. Wonder if they want to delay it to 9.45am and watch the Ashes climax?

8.35am Covers are coming back on. The sun is out, and it is still drizzling

8.30am It rained a while, and the toss has been delayed. Covers coming off. The rainbow is out

8.15am Once again, my gripe is, there is no Chandepraul. Wonder what the Ramotar and Joseph Henry think of it?

8am There was a time when Pakistan were the only team that could challenge West Indies' supremacy. Those two drawn Test series between these sides, in 1988 and 1990, were epic. Now they don't want to play Tests. So, disappointingly, ODIs it is. Welcome to the first one, which is being played at Providence. The last time West Indies won a home series against Pakistan was back in 1988 only. Toss in 30 minutes

7.5

Holder to Misbah-ul-Haq, 1 run, short and wide, cut away to third man for one

7.6

Holder to Nasir Jamshed, OUT, another leave and another wicket. This time it is lbw. Length ball, on off, or may be just outside, he is expecting to angle away, but it seams back in. Jamshed has made up his mind to leave it, and the ball hits him on the pad. Umpire Wilson takes his time before raising the finger. Hawkeye says it would have missed off stump. There is no DRS in this match. The controversial bit, though, is that WICB's media release on playing conditions stated: "DRS will have Hawkeye and Ultramotion"

Holder to Umar Akmal, no run, huge shout for catch at the wicket, but not given. This is an unplayable delivery, but has Akmal actually played it? Short of a length, just outside off, you have to play the angle, but it seams away. West Indies are sure they have their man. Umpire Wilson thinks otherwise. No DRS, remember. Loud edge. 24.2

DJ Bravo to Misbah-ul-Haq, 1 run, pushes at a wide one, guides it to third man for one
