Umpire Clyde Duncan stood in his first international match in 1988, the fifth ODI between West Indies and Pakistan in Georgetown. He made his Test debut in 1991 during the second Test between West Indies and Australia, once again at Georgetown. He officiated in two Tests, 21 ODIs and six Twenty20 internationals, the most recent being when West Indies hosted South Africa in May 2010. He also performed third and fourth umpire duties in numerous other international matches while he was a member of the ICC International Panel. He served as cricket operations manager in Guyana for the World Cup in 2007 and the World Twenty20 in 2010. He was also a teacher and head master at various schools in Guyana during his career in education. He was undergoing treatment for cancer in Trinidad and died at the age of 57 on July 27, 2011.
