Dr Albert Ernst Victor Hartkopf, died at Kew, Victoria on May 20, 1968, aged 78. He played one Test for Australia, against England at Melbourne in 1924-25. Batting at No. 8. he made 80. However, Australia were not short of runs and Hartkopf had been chosen to bowl leg-breaks: his match figures of 1 for 134 were not what they wanted and he was never picked again. He was a successful allrounder for Victoria over many seasons, scoring 1,758 runs (average 34.47) and taking 121 wickets at 30.79. He was a general practitioner in Melbourne.
