The year started off with a bang when on New Year's Day Corey Anderson broke the 17-year-old record for the fastest one-day century - getting it in 36 balls, one fewer than Shahid Afridi - in a rain-shortened 21-overs-a-side match against West Indies in Queenstown. It was the fastest ever international century across formats.
