Lancashire League faces Kenyans

Five professionals will line up in the EW Cartons Lancashire League side to take on Kenya in a World Cup warm-up match at Alexandra Meadows next Wednesday.

East Lancs' Claude Henderson will be joined by Roger Harper, Joe Scuderi, Brad McNamara and Brad White in a strong side which will be skippered by Duncan Spencer of reigning champions Nelson.

The game, which starts at 11am will be played under World Cup rules, with 50 overs per side.

Several amateurs have also been named as reserves by the league selectors.

The Lancashire League team is:

D Spencer (Nelson), McNamara (Haslingden), Harper (Nelson), Henderson (E Lancs), Scuderi (Colne), White (Bacup), P Garaghty (Nelson), R Baigent (Todmorden), P Thompson (Bacup), L Jackson (Enfield), D Whitehead (Todmorden) wicketkeeper. 12th man A Clague (E Lancs), other reserves P Bolton, N Iqbal (E Lancs), D Ormerod (Bacup), R Hevingham (Ramsbottom) wicketkeeper.
