Canterbury names strong team for under-19 tournament defence

The Canterbury Under 19 Tournament team was announced today.

It is as follows: Andrew Ellis (c), Tom Fisher, Nigel Tubbs, Shannon Stewart, Hamish McCarthy, Chris Sowden, Glen May, Peter Broom, Ian Robertson, Josh Coll, Michael Davidson.

The team will be coached by Mark Lane.

Last year Canterbury won the Under 19 tournament and, on paper, has a strong team. The tournament begin is in Auckland on 11th January 2001.
