Danny Lamb become the first concussion replacement in English first-class cricket when he took over from team-mate Joe Mennie in the Championship match at Worcestershire in 2018. Mennie, an Australian seamer, suffered suspected concussion when he was hit on the head by a return drive from Worcestershire batsman Martin Guptill.
Lamb, a former Cheshire cricketer, signed his maiden professional contract with Lancashire ahead of the 2017 season and made his first-team debut in the Royal London One-day Cup. He had opportunities in all formats in 2018.
The Preston-born seam-bowling all-rounder had impressed for the Lancashire seconds having come through the club's Academy. He is the brother of Lancashire and England women's player Emma.
