Middle order Batter

Elyse Villani, the Victoria opening batsman, is a player who is not afraid to hit over the top. Her clean-hitting and great timing meant she was earmarked for higher honours back in 2008 when she impressed for the Australia Under-21 side and the following year she made her T20 debut against New Zealand. She played a run of games at the 2010 World T20 in the Caribbean before losing her place. Recalled in 2013, she continued to struggle to make a breakthrough innings and after 10 T20 matches had a top score of 20 before guiding Australia to victory against England, in Sydney, with an unbeaten 36. Debuts in both the other formats had come in that same Ashes series.
