Patron's Trophy wrap-up after final round

National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) convincingly won the Patron's Trophy by winning 6 matches out of the 9 they played, losing only 1 for a total of 72 points. KRL were runners-up getting 54 points with 4 victories and 2 lost games.
Allied Bank won by 112 runs. Customs won the toss and decided to bowl, ABL scored 349, Ijaz Ahmed jnr and Aamer Hanif both fell in 70's while Waqar Ahmed and Tariq Haroon got 3 wickets each. Customs were bowled out at 228 and Aamir Nazir took 4. ABL declared at 254 losing 6 wickets with a century by Wajahatullah Wasti and set a target of 376. This was more than enough to bowl Customs out as they could muster only 263. Aaqib Javed and Arshad Khan took 5 and 4 wickets each.
KRL won by 8 wickets and reached the second spot in the trophy. After winning the toss ADBP put KRL into bat, KRL scored 360. Saeed Anwar jnr was top scorer with 112, while Fahad Masood took 5. ADBP followed-on at 200 and scored 225 in their 2nd innings while Naeem Akhtar took 5. KRL achieved the target of 66 losing 2 wickets only.
Wapda won by 7 wickets. Wapda won the toss and bowled HBL out for 61. This was the 2nd occasion in this tournament when HBL fell in the 60's on the same venue in their 1st innings. Waqas Ahmed was the main destroyer with 6 wickets. Wapda scored 186 and took a good lead of 125. HBL played well in their 2nd innings and scored 234, Waqas Ahmed once again bowled brilliantly and captured 'bankers' 7 wickets. Wapda had to score 110, which they did losing only 3 wickets.
The Trophy Champion's won their last round match by 153 runs against the weakest team of the tournament. SGCP won the toss and bowled NBP out for 263, while Abdur Rauf took 4. SGCP fought well and scored 227, Zahid Saeed and Mohammad Sami took 5 and 4 wickets each. NBP scored 256 in their 2nd innings and gave SGCP a target of 293, but it was too tough and SGCP was bowled out cheaply at 139, Mohammad Sami revived his 1st innings performance and took 4 wickets. SGCP face relegation to the Grade-II tournament next season.
PIA got three points in a drawn match against PWD. After winning the toss PIA declared at a huge score of 515/8. Veteran Shoaib Mohammad and upcoming star Faisal Iqbal made 163 and 126 respectively. PWD followed-on at 353; Afsar Nawaz was the top scorer with 75, while part time left armer Asif Mujtaba took 5. At the close PWD had scored 312 losing 5 wickets in their 2nd innings and the match drawn.
