Campbell (27) showed why Hong Kong had been so keen to select him: he started with a classical off-drive against Hamid Hassan, then smeared four more off-side boundaries with increasing authority. But in the sixth over, at 40-0, he top-edged a ball from Mohammad Nabi on to his helmet, and it trickled on to the stumps. Hong Kong floundered, collecting only three more fours, and failed to reach 120 as Nabi's flat off-spin snared four wickets. Shahzad launched another show of pyrotechnics, though he also gave Campbell the pleasure of his first wicket in international cricket (soon followed by his second, Nabi). The run-out of Noor Ali Zadran, after a brilliant throw from Babar Hayat in the deep, epitomised Hong Kong's spirit and zestful fielding, but Afghanistan waltzed to victory.
