Bangladesh v United Arab Emirates

Wisden's review of the third match, Bangladesh v United Arab Emirates

15-Apr-2017
At Mirpur, February 26, 2016 (floodlit). Bangladesh won by 51 runs. Bangladesh 133-8 (20 overs) (Mithun Ali 47, Mahmudullah 36*); ‡United Arab Emirates 82 (17.4 overs) (Mohammad Usman 30). MoM: Mahmudullah.
The UAE lost again, but only after they had given their opponents a scare. Mohammad Naveed claimed 2-12 from his four overs, while for the third match running slow leftarmer Ahmed Raza conceded no boundaries. Bangladesh, who in the sixth over were sitting pretty at 46-0, lost wickets in clumps: near the end of their innings they lurched from 112-4 to 114-7, and they relied on Mahmudullah's late flourish to shepherd them to a decent score. For the second successive game the UAE lost an opener for a duck, and never gained any fluency against an experienced attack who shared the wickets around. Only three batsmen managed double figures as the UAE became the first team bowled out by Bangladesh in a chase.
