January 20: Sydney Sixers v Melbourne Stars in Sydney
Our XI: Marcus Stoinis, Josh Phillippe, James Vince, Glenn Maxwell, Moises Henriques, Nick Larkin, Tom Curran, Nathan Coulter Nile, Sandee[ Lamichhane, Jackson Bird, Lloyd Pope
NOTE: We might not always be able to tip you off about a late injury (or other relevant) updates.
Captain: Glenn Maxwell
Maxwell is in the form of his life. So are the Stars. So much so that sometimes Maxwell does not even get a chance to bat. But why take a risk - Maxwell has scored 341 runs at a strike rate of 163.94 so far, after all.
Vice-captain: Marcus Stoinis
The last time these two teams met, Stoinis scored a record-breaking unbeaten 147. Stoinis is in outstanding form and is the leading run-getter with 523 runs at an average of 74.71.
He is back. And if he decides to bowl, he could get some valuable extra points.
Curran has been the main player for the Sixers this tournament. Barring the previous fixture against the Stars, where he went for 58 runs, he has been the best player for his team. Curran has 15 wickets and has scored 131 runs. Again, any allrounder is valuable in fantasy leagues.
Jackson Bird: Eight wickets from eight matches at an economy of 7.03 makes Bird vital for the Sixers. Early wickets is the need against a team like the Stars, and Bird could be the bowler to get them.
Nick Larkin: With Stoinis and Maxwell performing regularly, Larkin has slipped under the radar. His numbers may not be impressive but in the limited chances he has got, he has done well. If Stoinis and Maxwell are out early then Larkin could be the value pick. He has 128 runs at a strike rate of 133.33.
Point to note
The average first-innings score at the venue is 163. Pace bowlers have an economy of 8.20 while the spinners go at 7.4.
