Scorecard
England A suffered a heavy defeat in their warm-up game against Karnataka at Bangalore, going down by eight wickets.
They were bowled out for only 116 in 35.1 overs, despite another impressive performance by Warwickshire's Graham Wagg, who hit three fours and three sixes in an innings of 45. Ed Smith made 21, and Kevin Pietersen 17, as only five England batsmen reached double figures.
Forced to defend a small total without Simon Jones, who missed the match with a sore knee, England dismissed both Karnataka openers with 36 on the board. Lancashire's Salid Mahmood took the two wickets.
But an unbeaten stand of 84 for the third wicket between Beerala and and Bharadwaj guided Karnataka to a comprehensive win with more than half their overs to spare.
