WEST INDIES v AUSTRALIA

At Lord's, June 18

15-Apr-1984
At Lord's, June 18. West Indies won by seven wickets. From a start of 37 for two, Australia's innings prospered while Hughes and Hookes were adding 101, and for a time something over 300 seemed possible. In the end it needed some robust blows from Marsh for them to reach 273 for six, and it soon became clear that this was well within the reach of the West Indian batsmen on a good pitch. Haynes played on at 79, but Greenidge and Richards took the score past 200 at a pace which ensured that no undue haste would be needed thereafter.
Man of the Match: I. V. A. Richards.
