Bangladesh v Zimbabwe

At Dhaka, March 25 (day/night)

15-Apr-2000
At Dhaka, March 25 (day/night). Zimbabwe won by three wickets. Toss: Bangladesh. International debuts: Mahbubur Rahman, Neeyamur Rashid.
Mehrab Hossain hit Bangladesh's first century in one-day internationals, but could not prevent the hosts sliding to another defeat. This was, however, a much narrower one. Against a weakened attack - Zimbabwe rested Streak and Strang - Shahriar Hossain put on 170 with Mehrab, an all-wicket record for Bangladesh. Akram Khan then smashed an unbeaten 50 from 44 balls to guide them to 257, equalling their highest score in limited-overs internationals, against the same opponents at Nairobi in October 1997. Zimbabwe's victory, with three balls to spare, was helped by a 97 from Campbell, and some sloppy Bangladeshi fielding which gave him two lives.
Man of the Match: A. D. R. Campbell.
