Dougie Brown has been named in the Scotland squad for the ICC Trophy, in Ireland, from July 1-7. But Brown will miss the game against Oman after being given dispensation to play for Warwickshire in a key benefit match against Worcestershire.
Scotland's squad has been strengthened by the inclusion of four county cricketers. Gavin Hamilton (Durham), John Blain (Yorkshire) and Kyle Coetzer (Durham) join Brown. The top five teams qualify for the 2007 World Cup in West Indies.
The wicketkeeper, Colin Smith, is set to commute to the tournament after Scottish cricket bosses secured his partial release from police duties during the G8 summit.
Smith, who plays for Aberdeenshire, will miss matches against Papua New Guinea and also Namibia, but will travel back and forward across the Irish Sea for other matches. Dougie Lockhart will fill in behind the stumps during Smith's absences.
Squad Craig Wright (capt), Fraser Watts, Dougie Lockhart, Gavin Hamilton, Ryan Watson, Dougie Brown, Colin Smith, Kyle Coetzer, John Blain, Asim Butt, Paul Hoffman, Dewald Nel, Gregor Maiden, Cedric English.
