The Irish Cricket Union have confirmed that William Porterfield has been called up to the Ireland squad for the one-day international against England, at Stormont, on Tuesday.
Porterfield, 21, replaces Eoin Morgan, who has been included in the Middlesex side which is now being stretched with Andrew Strauss, Ed Joyce and Jamie Dalrymple in the England squad. Middlesex have two Championship , three C&G and three Twenty20 matches during the period that the England squad are together for the Ireland and Sri Lanka matches .
The Union said they are disappointed at Morgan missing the game but feel that it is in his best interest, as a young player, and for his future in the Ireland team to play in the matches for Middlesex.
Niall O' Brien, the Kent wicketkeeper will also miss the game, as he is required by his county to cover for Geraint Jones who will be on England duty.
