South Africa extended their unbeaten run to 20 one-day matches despite a battling century from Yuvraj Singh. Pollock and Ntini, who dismissed Sehwag with his first ball thanks to an acrobatic catch by Prince at backward point, took two wickets apiece as India slumped to 35 for five after being put in on a pitch offering some seam movement and bounce. Boucher's catch to send back Gambhir was his 300th dismissal in one-day internationals, a mark reached previously only by Australia's Adam Gilchrist. Yuvraj first counter-attacked then settled down to bat through the innings, and nearly managed it: he was ninth out for 103 to give India a plausible total. But Smith - whose previous four one-day games against India had brought him only seven runs - kicked off South Africa's reply with a 36-ball 48 that included nine fours, seven of them off Pathan; then Kallis dropped anchor to take his side home. This was the first international match at the new Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Uppal, a suburb of Hyderabad, where big games were previously staged at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium.
