At Rawalpindi, February 11, 2006. India won by seven wickets. Toss: Pakistan.
Whatever Sehwag's form against the rest of the world, he finds something special for Pakistan. A whirlwind opening stand - 105 in 15 overs with Tendulkar - set up a comfortable win. Sehwag had managed only two one-day fifties since he last met Pakistan, but their bowlers fed his strengths outside off stump, though a shoulder injury sustained hitting Naved-ul-Hasan for six ended his tour. An effortless 82, as beautiful as it was simple, from Yuvraj Singh ensured Pakistan were, in coach Bob Woolmer's words, "roundly thrashed". And not just the bowlers: on a mild pitch, the top order collapsed to 68 for four against a disciplined attack. Shoaib Malik got even closer to a hundred than at Peshawar, with a more calculated 95; along with Younis Khan's impish 81, that allowed Pakistan to set some sort of target, but Sehwag's bluster made the hunt perfunctory.
Man of the Match: I. K. Pathan.
