Turning Points

Delhi v Victoria, Champions League, Group D, Delhi

09-Oct-2009
It was the penultimate ball of the fifth over, which accounted for Virender Sehwag just as he was going great guns. Clint McKay hit a good length on middle, Sehwag came forward to chip it into the leg side but got a leading edge back to the bowler. McKay flung himself to his right to pluck it inches from the ground to send him back, and Delhi's troubles had just started.
Andrew McDonald's double strike in the last over, ensured there would be no last minute spoilers to the Victorian party. He took out Rajat Bhatia and Pradeep Sangwan off the third and final balls to limit Delhi to a below-par 98.
Ashish Nehra's third over went for 15 runs as Rob Quiney and Brad Hodge helped themselves to a six and four respectively. That opened the floodgates and there was hardly an instance after that where Victoria ceased to control the match.
