Bangladesh v New Zealand, 2013-14

Wisden's review of a Twenty20 International, Bangladesh v New Zealand, 2013-14

15-Apr-2014
The switch to Twenty20 allowed New Zealand to close their nightmarish tour on a winning note. Devcich, from New Zealand's sizeable Croatian population, led the charge after being dropped by fellow debutant Al-Amin Hossain at short fine leg, and a brutal onslaught by the unorthodox Munro, who slammed 73 off 39 balls, including four sixes in eight deliveries off the spinners, meant the hosts conceded their record total. After losing three wickets in the first ten balls, Bangladesh hit out frantically, which proved inadequate - and left them with much to ponder before hosting the 2014 World Twenty20.
MoM: C. Munro. Twenty20 international debuts: Al-Amin Hossain (Bangladesh); A. P. Devcich (New Zealand).
