Kamran Akmal's career-best 275 laid the foundation of National Bank's crushing, innings-and-157-run win against Lahore Lions that helped them consolidate their position at the top of the points table.
It was Akmal's 21st first-class century and only his second double-hundred in 307 innings and it made the match a one-sided contest with Lions failing to cross Akmal's score in both its innings.
Put into bat, National Bank lost their first three wickets for 99 but Akmal, in the company of Fawad Alam who scored 95, lifted the team to 542. He maintained a strike rate of 82.58 during his innings and struck nine sixes and 29 fours.
In response, Lions were bowled out for 159 in their first innings, with Hammad Azam picking up 6 for 39. They resisted in the second innings as Agha Salman and Raza Ali Dar hit half-centuries, but Ahmed Jamal picked up 6 for 82 to end their innings on 226.
