Pakistan have won the Twenty20 series 2-0. New Zealand were boosted by that stand between McCullum and Styris, but the acceleration, in hindsight, came a little too late. Ajmal bowled a superb penultimate over, including the wicket of McCullum, and Styris was left with too many to get with too few to come. The 2-0 win should come as some consolation to the ODI defeat, and the attention now shifts to the Test series in New Zealand. We'll get you the presentation details in just a bit.

Pakistan have won their seventh consecutive Twenty20 game, equalling the record shared by South Africa.

Awards of the "longest six of the match" kind being given away now. Were waiting for the more important bits. Umar Akmal is the Man of the Match for his half-century.

Umar: "My tour wasn't going too well, and my captain asked me to play responsibly. It was important to get the starts, and once Afridi came in to bat and we got a partnership going, the pressure eased off."

Shahid Afridi is the Man of the Series.

McCullum: "The team showed great spirit and overcame the setbacks despite the injuries. We bowled pretty well, I thought 150 was a par score. Ian Butler came back well and it a testament to his character, but unfortunately we couldn't chase it. To take on Pakistan here in the UAE and to come away with a series win in the ODIs was ground-breaking. It's going to be a great Test series in New Zealand. It's fantastic to play in and tour this country."

Afridi collects the trophy from the PCB chairman Ijaz Butt and Sunil Gavaskar, who's part of the presentation panel.

Afridi: "We are very proud of our efforts. I have plenty of confidence in our players, we played like a unit with good performances from everyone. When I saw Umar Akmal play for the first time, he impressed me with with his attitude. Cricket is the biggest form of entertainment in Pakistan and we hope it returns to the country one day. The support here in the UAE was great, and I thank the people for it."

That's all from us folks. Thanks for tuning in and sending us your feedback. Join us for the Test series which starts on November 24. In the meantime, there's a lot of cricket happening elsewhere, with England playing South Africa and India taking on Sri Lanka. Until the next time, it's goodbye from all of us at Cricinfo. See ya!

Umar Gul to Styris, OUT

Malik snaps it at long-on, Styris made room and tried to launch that length delivery over long-on, found Malik at long-off who was waiting for that mistimed attempt and took it comfortably while preventing a collision with the man running in from long-on

Scott Styris c Shoaib Malik b Umar Gul 43 (33b 2x4 2x6 42m) SR: 130.3

8 to win off one ball, Gul would be foolish to concede an extra delivery here

Umar Gul to Franklin, 1 run

a wonderful low catch from Malik at long-on, lands on a length on leg stump, Franklin picks it but doesn't have enough wood on it, Malik running in from long-on, bends low and takes it inches off the ground.........Or so it seemed. The umpires are consulting. Franklin's still waiting, they're not sure if it carried, it appears they called for a referral but replays were inconclusive. The next batsman has already made his way in, and Franklin's waiting for the final call near the boundary line. He's been called back.

driven off the front foot to long-off for a single

Mark: "This is classic Black Caps. Let the required run rate build up and leave it all to do at the end. The tactic fails far more than it works. It's anybody's guess whether it will work today"

McCullum managed to fight it out for the bulk of the innings but is out at a crucial time. James Franklin comes in after a stand of 66 which came in fairly quick time.

charges down the track, it's slower through the air, he had given it a bit of air to induce him into doing that, skied it and Malik, at long-on, judged it to perfection
