This is astounding; slumber in the middle overs and complacency have cost Welsh Fire a game that was in their bag for the most part and it'll take some time for them to wrap their heads around this botch-up. By the time they realized they'd left a few too many runs for the end, London Spirit tightened the screws and stitched together some tight sets to make the equation steeper as Welsh Fire hit the panic button with dots starting to pile up. Earlier, London Spirit scratched their way to a subpar total, with Charlie Knott raising her hand and scoring a vital 47 which ultimately proved just enough and made the difference in the end. Welsh Fire were excellent with the ball: Freya Davies picked up three wickets, Hayley Matthews snapped up two and Katie Levick snared three, keeping the batters on the hook throughout. But then, their own batters couldn't pace the chase and will be left dumbfounded and admonish themselves as to how they let it slip away. Sophia Dunkley and Hayley Matthews provided a stable start and it looked like a walk-in-the-park affair but both departed after getting starts. Jess Jonassen then steadied the ship with 29, but her ill-timed run-out opened the floodgates. The new batters found it tough to rotate strike as Gray, Dean, Wong, and Harris didn't err in their lines and lengths, showing courage and not the slightest sign of nerves to eke out a narrow win

Charli Knott, Match Hero: I was a little bit nervous out on the boundary. We knew we were in the game and definitely very excited to get the win in the end. It was a little tough to start early, couldn't hit the sweep as clean but I cashed in later. The game plan was just to hit harder and it paid off. Everyone was on their toes and hunting from the get-go

Naresh: "Unbelievable. LS did not even play 100 balls and lost all their wickets. WF saved 5 wickets, played all balls and still lost"

Harris to Elwiss, OUT

This is astounding, how on Earth did Welsh Fire made a mess of it? Length ball aimed at her body as she backs away and tries to heave it down the ground, fielder takes a stunning catch running backwards from mid-on and London Spirit have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat!

Harris to Jonassen, 1 run, OUT

Touch full and skidding on at middle and leg, nurgled away to deep midwicket and the throw is not quite spot on but the keeper quickly gets rid of the ball and the batter is a few mms short of her crease, excellent work! It is Fire's game to lose! They will be cursing themselves to leave it that late

Jess Jonassen run out (Griffith/†Redmayne) 29 (24b 4x4 0x6 28m) SR: 120.83

Manoj: "Welsh is taking too much. You have loads of wicket, not showing one intent at all from any batter. "

Harris to Elwiss, 1 run

Tension on the field is palpable. Inverses her stance and goes for a reverse, just fell short of the fielder at short third, fielder was in business for a moment

Tim: "This game is starting to shape up like the tied match at Lord's last year"

DaWolf: "Fire scoring too slow, so they've got plenty of wickets in hand but just that chance of late pressure and a loss with wickets in hand. Better to aim to win around ball 90-95."
