just the one needed and they run two for the win. Doesn't matter. The game is done once the single is taken. Marsh with the winning runs, lofts over mid-off
Renegades vs Scorchers, 21st Match at Melbourne, BBL, Dec 26 2021 - Match Result
Scorchers won by 8 wickets (with 19 balls remaining)
That's the end of the fun on double-header Sunday but we have another feast coming up tomorrow. Do remember to tune in for all the action. There's a host of live action around the world at the moment. Catch up on those as well. Until the next time, stay safe and be well. Take care. Ta, ta!
Mitch Marsh: Another good win. Nice execution with the ball and it all worked out even though things got away from us at the end with the ball but that's T20 cricket, it happens. What time is it now? [laughs]. Love being a part of the Scorchers unit and good to win. Can't give away too much [on his pre-match routines] it's not as everyone thinks, it's pretty chilled out. I'm feeling good at the moment. The turnaround started in the West Indies when I was thrust into high-pressure situations with the ball. Couldn't bowl a lot over the years due to injury and I love being in the contest for the Scorchers. Right now the focus is to execute off every ball and glad that I'm doing it.
Mitch Marsh is the Player of the Match for his all-round effort.
00:15 local: No stopping the Scorchers juggernaut. They look unstoppable as they make it 6 out of 6. Munro and Marsh have finished the 152 chase in just 16.5 overs. The New Zealander being the aggressor tonight with Marsh playing second fiddle. The departure of the openers in quick succession did raise some hopes for the Renegades but they were crushed emphatically by the Munro-Marsh duo. So the Rengegades lie at the bottom of the table and Scorchers are flying high.
down leg and the scores are level
fine stop by cover-point. Mackenzie Harvey the man. He dives to his left and stops a fierce thump off the back foot by Marsh
right up there on the stumps, Munro inside-edges the dig-out, a single to short fine
four more. Munro picks the slower ball on a fuller length, clears his front leg and drills it straight down the ground
This is ending quickly. Down leg and easy for Munro who glances fine and reaches fifty as well. He is continuing his good form
finally Topley lands the yorker, turned to deep backward square for one
those wrists. Again Topley misses the yorker, Munro with a low backlift whips that over mid-wicket and there's no-one there, one bounce and over
there was Will Sutherland at long-on but the length ball is right in his arc, Munro swings and lofts cleanly, Sutherland can only watch the ball float over his head
awkward height for Munro but he lifts one leg up and swats the waist-high full-toss wide of deep square, rockets away one bounce over the ropes
length ball just outside off, Munro defends to extra-cover
fired in full and Marsh digs it out to long-on
The Power Surge has been taken and Topley round the wicket.
smashed. Full and wide outside off, Munro has the width to free his arms and lofts over extra-cover. No-one moved. A flat six as the ball just clears the ropes
late tail back into Marsh, on a yorker length, Marsh bunts it past Pattinson
another back of the hand slower ball goes wrong, outside off
full and right up there, Munro drives to extra-cover
low full-toss on off, Marsh drives to long-on
lands it right this time, keeps low outside off and beats Marsh's cut
the back of the hand slower ball goes horribly wrong, well wide of off and called a wide
length ball on off, wristed to long-on
