12.09am Thanks for joining us tonight, and all the nights before tonight. Today we've seen the last of calculations and scenarios, of permutations and wishing. For those efforts, the IPL gives all of us a day off tomorrow. On Tuesday, we'll have the first qualifier and it's a derby. Mumbai Indians v Rising Pune at the Wankhede, which will be followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad v Kolkata Knight Riders in Bangalore on Wednesday. We'll see you there next. Good night!

Harshal: It hasn't been easy for me, especially with the team losing and me not getting an opportunity to show my form. Got an opportunity in the last game and I really wanted to leave a dent. In the IPL you have a lot of time and you have to utilise it well; I've just been training throughout.

Virat: I just met Matthew Hayden and said I almost instinctively went to him after the game [because he interviews the losing captain]. The guys took today as an opportunity and it worked out. It's been a season to forget, a season to reflect on. We've got a great chance to look at all the things we've done wrong and refresh as a franchise. We do have guys in the 3-5 player bracket who we want to retain if that's possible. They've shown the right attitude and they deserve it. It's just nice to end on a winning note. Both Harshal and Avesh played with a lot of heart. The way Avesh rushed it onto the batsmen on this pitch, something world-class bowlers couldn't do, was impressive. We know Harshal's skillset and he took three big wickets today, it's unfortunate he couldn't play more.
That six, honestly, I was looking to push this between the two fielders to try and pick up two but I think Corey bowled a cross-seam ball. I'm pretty happy with the way I hit the ball today and more happy that I did it in a winning cause.

Aravind: "Negi's difference - 13 runs in the last 4 balls while batting. Defended an identical target in the last 4 balls which bowling."

Joel: "The performance of Negi this IPL is a ray of light in an otherwise bleak campaign. He adds balance to the side can reliably bowl 4 overs and capable with the bat down the order"

Jigar: "So while every other Team defeated RCB, DD failed twice and may be the reason they're not in playoffs otherwise on not so bad season if you add 2 wins to their tally"

Zaheer: This has been the story of the season. When we look back, we can see we needed experience in these sorts of games. When the wicket is slow, you need to go big early.

The action for the day has ended in the IPL, but it has just started in Spain, where both Real Madrid and Barcelona still have a shot at the La Liga title. You can watch both their games live and exclusive at www.espn.in/watch

11.45pm And that's the end of the league stage. Negi took charge of the 20th over in both innings today and he's delivered a win in the end, building on the efforts of Gayle, Kohli, Avesh and Harshal. Something to cheer about for RCB in the end then; the end of a dismal season. Rishabh Pant doesn't manage to take it home against RCB for the second time this season, but once again he found little support on the other end. The inexperienced batsmen played shots not meant for this pitch, the experienced ones looked nervous the whole way through.

Negi to Nadeem, OUT

and Negi deals the final blow, to his old franchise, on their home ground. Good length at leg stump, gives him the charge and slogs across the line. Finds deep midwicket who didn't have to move at all

Shahbaz Nadeem c Jadhav b Negi 2 (6b 0x4 0x6 12m) SR: 33.33

Negi to Nadeem, no run

back of a length length at off stump, drilled back at the bowler on the bounce

19.4
Negi to Nadeem, no run

flat, good length, middle stump. Steps out and gets an inside edge that bounces up for the keeper who is too excited to try and hold this before trying to take the stumps off. Doesn't gather cleanly and ends up throwing the ball at the stumps in the end

19.3
1
Negi to Khan, 1 run

another faster one, good length outside off stump, driven on the up, off the toe-end to deep extra cover

19.2
W
Negi to Shami, OUT

good length, flat outside off stump. Shami steps out and looks to slog it over the midwicket boundary. Misses and immediately tries to push his back foot behind the crease. The front part of this boot is bent and on top of the crease one frame before the bails come off. And he has only got it slightly on the front part of the line, enough for the umpire to say that's out. Nothing was behind the crease

Mohammed Shami st †Vishnu Vinod b Negi 21 (9b 3x4 1x6 16m) SR: 233.33

A stumping appeal. Third umpire is looking at this....and it looks very, very close. Shami stepped out and missed a faster one.

Negi to Nadeem, 1 run

back of a length on the pads, flicked off the pads to deep square leg

Negi will bowl the last over. 13 off 6.

Avesh Khan to Shami, FOUR runs

gets the top edge over the keeper. Avesh goes back of a length at off stump, his action gets the ball up for Shami to pull. He does so and is late on it once again. But he gets four and he keeps Delhi in the game

1lb
Avesh Khan to Nadeem, 1 leg bye

full outside off stump, Nadeem leans into the off side, one-legged, and looks to ramp it over short fine. Misses, gets it on his back leg and into the off side

18.4
1
Avesh Khan to Shami, 1 run

back of a length at middle stump, too late on the pull shot, gets it high on the bat but it lands safely in front of long-on

Avesh was down on the floor again after that last ball. Lots of people asking if he's sure he wants to bowl.

Avesh Khan to Shami, SIX runs

dropped. Kohli looked like he misjudged this at long-on. This was full at middle stump, Shami stands and swipes, gets it off the toe and to Kohli's left at long-on. He runs gingerly, and gets up late. In the end, it's one-handed and he can only tip it over the boundary. A tough chance, but it's six

18.2
1
Avesh Khan to Nadeem, 1 run

126kph, back of a length outside off stump, sliced off the outer half of the bat, gets it to third man's right

Avesh Khan is clutching his calf and has gone down. He might be cramping up. Back on his feet now, good to go.

Negi to Mishra, OUT

goes down the track again, but this time the bowler wins. This is flatter, good length at middle stump. He wants to lift it over extra cover this time, but that straightens just enough to go past his angled bat and into the stumps

Amit Mishra b Negi 7 (4b 0x4 1x6 11m) SR: 175
17.5
Negi to Mishra, no run

ouch. Arm ball, back of a length, skids in sharply and hits him in the box as he looks to pull. He's on the floor in pain, so Shami's call for a single won't get any response

Negi to Mishra, SIX runs

shot of the day. A beauty from Mishra. This is good length, dipping sharply at middle stump. He goes down the wicket, barely gets to the pitch. Offers the full face, then extends the arms to lift it over the sightscreen

17.3
1
Negi to Shami, 1 run

good length, flat outside off stump. This time Shami takes a step into the off side and slaps across the line to find long-on

17.2
Negi to Shami, no run

good length outside off stump, Shami slogs across the line without getting to the pitch. The ball spins past his outside edge and Vishnu takes the bails off. The stumping appeal is sent upstairs, but he never left the crease

17.1
1
Negi to Mishra, 1 run

good length, flat at middle stump. Goes for the reverse sweep, and just about manages to connect and drag it off the under edge to backward point

Here's Negi. Only Justin Bieber had more people calling his name over the last few days...
