Full commentary

11.35pm At this ground, all it takes is one over to change the game. That was always a chance of happening if KKR had power-hitters through the middle. Yusuf and Russell are two of the biggest in the world. From an unlikely position in the middle, Yusuf and Russell kept their side in the game till one big over from Pathan changed the game. KKR win, RCB lose. That is the way of the game, but how much impact will this loss have on RCB's chances of a playoffs spot? Could be massive. Hats off to Yusuf and Russell. Rahul and Kohli too played really well. Insufficient was RCB's 185. As big a loss this was for RCB, could be an equally big win for KKR, who came into this after back-to-back losses. KKR climb to second on the table now.

Andre Russell, the Man of the Match: "Important game for us, we had to come back strong. We said back our strength. We are two strong guys. Pleasure to bat with Yusuf. Bowling against Chris, Virat, Rahul, I'm happy with 11 (in that Powerplay)

Gautam Gambhir: "Unbelievable knock from Russell and Yusuf. The way we started with the bat, not upto the mark. Especially at this ground, we knew 12 or 13 can be chaseable. Just a matter of hanging in there. We knew Surya could be dangerous as a finisher. Started very professionally. Morne came back very well. Umesh didn't have a great day but he is a quality bowler."

Virat Kohli: "Nothing much to say, we needed to take our chances. We let the game drift away. Composure with the ball was lacking. Guys like Russell and Yusuf will make you pay. Need to take chances in T20 cricket. We thought 175, the wicket was a bit sticky. Its the way it goes in T20 cricket. At this level, you need to be professional enough to know where things went wrong. Well stays positive and try to correct our mistakes."

Aravind to Suryakumar, FOUR runs

full down leg and clipped behind square to finish the game. A morale-boosting win for KKR.

What a game, way too many extras conceded by RCB.

Mohammed Waseem: "Yusuf was on 14 of 14 balls and the next 14 he scored 45.... this is pure power of PATHAN"

flat on middle to finish, Sutryakumar pushes to long-on to tie the game. Scores are level.

Rohit: "Sorry guys, but I am on Gambhir's side on that - A captain is as good as his team and nothing more...."

Shamsi to Suryakumar, no run

another googly outside off, Suryakumar misses his late dab.

Gambhir is pumped in the dugout.

Shamsi to Suryakumar, FOUR runs

the googly on leg, Suryaklumar gets down low and sweeps the ball behind square. Four more. No chance for square leg. All over I presume

Pradeep : "This innings is like a movie which starts off slowly, some twists and turns in the middle and just when you get bored of it, comes the enthralling final quarter and a climax, you would not be disappointed watching this"

great batting. Expected the flatter delivery outside off, Yusuf waits for it and then opens up the face to guide the ball past third man for four. Superb

Radha Krishna K: "I am absolutely certain that we are going to see a nail biter today! A super over would be awessssommmme! May god wish my dream to come true"

Shamsi to Pathan, SIX runs

clears long-off to bring up a sensational fifty from yusuf. Fullish and wide outside off, Yusuf powers his stroke over long-off. Fist-pump, what an innings

Shamsi will finish.

Sid: "Virat took a gamble by bowling a spinner at this stage, and it paid off. Dhoni must be having a great influence on these young captains."

flat down leg, good batting from Yusuf. Just works the ball with soft hands towards square leg. Looked for two and got it comfortably

tossed up on off, driven to long-off with the spin. Good batting, good bowling

Suryakumar Yadav.

W
Chahal to Russell, OUT

would have been called wide had he left it alone, but Russell chooses to go after it and holes out. Is that the play that RCB needed? Very slow outside off, Russell stretches out for it and doesn't time the drive. Holes out to deep cover. Binny takes a pressure catch, reverse cupped.

another boundary. All going wrong for RCB. Shortish legcutter outside off, Yusuf looks to smear over midwicket but a thick outside edge flies to the third man boundary. Was a very clever delivery but such is the nature ...

looks for another one of those mows, doesn't get it though. Squeezed to midwicket, in the gap and that will be two more

Watson to Pathan, SIX runs

six this time. four boundaries in a row. One over could always change this game at this ground. this surely has to be that over. Full again on middle, this was shorter than the first ball and allowed Yusuf to get under it again. His muscular lofted swipe clears long-on

Smith: "Anyone's game? Nah, KKR got this. They still have pinch hitters to come. Unless RCB keeps bowling in the blockhole for the next 4 overs"

three in a row. Watson opts for the change of length. the bouncer on off, Yusuf anticipated that length and pulled that nicely. past the square leg who is in the circle and Yusuf is on fire

four more. Lands just inside the boundary. Watson chooses to go wide outside off, Yusuf uses all his muscle to bludgeon the lofted cover drive. Sensational batting

Watson to Pathan, FOUR runs

in the gap for four. Again, yusuf did not quite get under that sufficiently but found the gap at midwicket. Overpitched on off and Yusuf drills the ball in the gap.

These two have done commendably well to keep up with the rate. Now they need to go at under 12 for four overs. Anyone's game? Watson will bowl one of his two overs now.

Time out

15.6
Aaron to Russell, no run

the ball of the day! And to the same batsman too. An inch-perfect yorker on middle and leg. Russell hurries to gtet his bat down and somehow manages to keep it out this time. Very similar to the Mustafizur delivery to Russell.
