2001 finalists crash out in SEC Cup Round 2

Lymington's reign as Southern Electric Premier League SEC Knockout Cup holders is over. They crashed to a seven-wicket second round defeat by neighbours Bashley (Rydal), for whom Neil Thurgood hit a half-century.

Last season's beaten finalists Andover also went out - South Wilts snatching an exciting two-wicket victory off the penultimate ball at London Road.

Richard Kenway's 66 eased Premier League champions BAT Sports to a comfortable 19-run win over Winchester KS.

Burridge provided the shock of the round, edging out much fancied Havant by eight runs.

Overseas players featured strongly in second round wins by Portsmouth and Easton & Martyr Worthy. South African Warren Swann cracked 83 in Portsmouth's 52-run win against Liphook & Ripsley, while Australian left-hand all-rounder Francis Gill notched a half-century as Easton crushed Trojans.

The much-delayed second round tie between Calmore Sports and Old Tauntonians & Romsey will be played at Loperwood Park on Thursday evening, 6pm.
