The previous best for WestIndies against Pakistan on home soil was Curtly Ambrose's 4 for 35 at St.John's on 15-03- 1988. Incidentally Rose's previous personal best was 3 for 25 against India at Port-of-Spain on 26-04-1997.
- Rose, infact, became only the fourth bowler to take five wickets in a match in West Indies after Colin Croft (6 for 15, v England at Kingstown on 04-02-1981), Tony Gray (6-50, v Australia at Port-of-Spain on 09-03-1991) and Sanath Jayasuriya (5 for 58,v West Indies at Port-of-Spain on 06-06- 1997).
- Rose's figures were the fourth joint best by any bowler against Pakistan after Australia's Carl Rackemann's 5 for 16 at Adelaide on 30-01-1984, India's Saurav Ganguly's 5 for 16 at Toronto on 18-09-1997, India's Arshad Ayub's 5 for 21 at Dhaka on 31-10-1988 and Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan's 5 for 23 at Benoni on 15-04-1998.
- Curtly Ambrose's figures (8-2-12-1) were the most economical by a bowler in an eight-over spell against Pakistan.
