Sachin Tendulkar's World Record of 18 One-day Hundreds

On 25 Sepetmber 1998, Sachin Tendulkar, aged 25 years and 155 days, created a new World Record when he scored his 18th Limited Overs International (LOI) hundred in the 191st innings of his 198th match. In the process, he overtook Desmond Haynes (17 hundreds). Haynes' record, made on 5 March 1994, thus stood for 4 years and 205 days.

It had taken Sachin 79 matches and 76 innings to score his first hundred, 4 years and 81 days since his debut. But once he did that, he has made his 18 hundreds overall in a period of just over four years in which he has played 115 innings in 119 matches, giving him an astonishing rate of a hundred every sixth innings.
