Andy Moles, the former New Zealand coach, will take over as Afghanistan's batting coach, in preparation for the 2015 World Cup. Moles, the former Warwickshire and Griqualand West opening batsman, has also held coaching positions with Kenya and Scotland in the past. He lasted less than a year in the New Zealand job, resigning in October 2009.
"We are pleased to have the services of Andy Moles in our batting preparations for the World Cup," Noor Mohammad Murad, CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, said. "He has broad experience in international cricket both as a player and a coach and he will bring the benefits of this experience to our national players."
According to an ACB media release, Moles will arrive in Kabul later this week to begin his work with the team.
