Worcestershire's chief executive, Mark Newton, said: "Both had very good seasons in 2007 and we are delighted they have committed to Worcestershire in this way as they will not only help us achieve more playing success but also help mentor the younger players in our squad."

With concerns rumbling that Australian and New Zealand players could soon become Kolpak players too, Newton highlighted his pleasure that of 18 fully contracted players at the club, 17 were eligible to play for England.

"We are proud of the fact," he said. "The 18th player, 17-year-old Alexei Kervezee, is playing regularly for Netherlands. We have openly stated we would prefer not to go down the Kolpak route although we would never rule it out completely."

Worcestershire still have to sign their overseas player for 2008. Last season they employed the Australian duo Phil Jaques and Doug Bollinger.
