All round show by Raghunatha Reddy

An all-round performance by K Raghunatha Reddy helped Andhra gain the first innings lead against Hyderabad in the South Zone U-14 tournament match at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium, Vijayawada on Friday.

Batting first, Andhra amassed 273 in 120 overs, opener V Sandeep making a patient half century laced with eight boundaries. K Raghunatha Reddy top scored with a well made 83. His 219-ball innings included ten hits to the fence. AG Pradeep chipped in with a valuable 67 off 199 deliveries. Ravi Teja bagged four for 56 runs.

In reply, Hyderabad ran into trouble at the hands of K Raghunatha Reddy who single handedly gave Andhra the first innings lead claiming nine wickets for 30 runs. Reddy bowled 27.5 overs including eleven maidens. Hyderabad were shot out for 169 in 72.5 overs giving Andhra a lead of 104 runs. Andhra declared at 167 for seven in the second innings setting Hyderabad a target of 262 in 30 overs. Hyderabad scored 65 for no loss in 25 overs before the match was called off. Andhra picked up five points and Hyderabad three.
