Tour selectors and management have agreed to a request from fast bowler, Curtly Ambrose, that he be released during the One-Day International triangular series involving the West Indies, Zimbabwe and the host country.

The 36-year-old will return to Antigua for that period (July 4-23) and rejoin the West Indies cricketers in time for the third Test (August 3-7) at Old Trafford.

The decision to relieve Ambrose from playing these One-Day matches is in keeping with the policy of not playing both himself and Courtney Walsh together in the abbreviated version of the game.

In addition, vice-captain Sherwin Campbell has been granted a few days off to return home to Barbados for the expected birth of his child. He will be away from the squad between July 4 and 7 and will return to England to take part in the One-Day series which concludes July 22 with the final at Lord's in London.
