The line-up will feature the star attractions, other than the Australians of course. Defeat at the Oval after the shock loss to the Netherlands last Friday would have condemned England to a first-round exit, but to the delight of those supporting Paul Collingwood's men on the spreads they managed to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
They did so after convincingly beating Pakistan by 48 runs on Sunday. Buyers of England's outright tournament win index spread will have been pleased with the performance, especially seeing as Kevin Pietersen come through unscathed.
The Sporting Index traders have made South Africa favourites on the outright win index (60pts-Winner, 40pts-Runner-up, 20pts-Losing Semi-finalist, 10pts-Eliminated at 'Super-Eight' stage) with a spread of 29-32pts. South Africa are closely followed by India at 26-29, with England sitting in fifth at 18-21.
Those punters buying total tournament runs will be hoping that the sides left continue to attack in the opening six overs. With already over 2000 runs scored in the opening group matches, South Africa have hit the highest total with a huge 211 runs against a poor Scottish side.
After eliminating the Aussies, Sri Lanka are certainly a team that look to take advantage of the fielding restrictions during the power plays. Other than the Proteas huge total, the other teams have yet to post many big innings totals and Sporting Index's total series innings 200-ups spread of 57-67 (1pt awarded for every run over 200 in any innings in the series) is certain to attract the attention of spread punters.
Spread bettors will have been paying close attention to how teams have chosen to play the opening power-plays, and the stats so far suggest sides have adopted different strategies.
Buyers of the total tournament 1st six over runs will be pleased that there have already been close to 1000 runs scored. Boundaries have been a hugely important factor in deciding the outcome of the group matches, and there have been plenty of sixes and over 200 fours so far.
Those spread bettors that have bought the total sixes spread will be hoping AB de Villiers can continue his fine big-hitting form - he and Chris Gayle lead the way with six each. The Sporting Index traders have opened another interesting market on the amount of wides conceded during an innings, the spread is currently at 232-242.
Buyers of the spread will be pleased that England have made it through to the 'Super-Eights' as they managed ten in the opening match against the Netherlands.
