Anil Kumble and Ajit Agarkar have been ruled out of India's one-day series against Pakistan, due to their injuries not having healed sufficiently. Speaking to reporters SK Nair, the secretary of the BCCI, said: "We have received [fitness] reports that Kumble and Agarkar are not fit. They will not go for the one-dayers."

Kumble suffered a shoulder injury and Agarkar hurt his shin during the recent tour of Australia. With Harbhajan Singh already ruled out of the Pakistan tour, the injuries presented a dilemma to India, who will send a depleted and inexperienced bowling attack to Pakistan. There was still no news on Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra's fitness reports, required by the selectors who were due to meet on March 1 to pick the squad for the one-day series.
