- Amit Bhandari was making his ODI debut. He became the 131st player to make an ODI appearance for India.
- Nayan Mongia was making a comeback into Indian side. He had last appeared against New Zealand at Nottingham on 12-06-1999 in World Cup. Since then he missed 39 matches for India.
- Pakistan recorded its fourth highest total against India. The total is also the highest against India in Asia Cup matches. This obliterates the previous highest of 271 for six in 45 overs by Sri Lanka at Dhaka on 29-10-1988.
- Yousuf Youhana made his third hundred in his 59th match. He reached three figure mark off the last ball of Pakistan's innings with a six. Youhana became 10th Pakistani to score a ODI hundred against India. He also provided the 18th instance of a hundred being scored by a Pakistani against India.
- T.Kumaran's figures of 10-0-86-0 is the worst ever performance by an Indian in ODIs. Kumaran put in to shade Karsan Ghavri's performance in 1975 World Cup match against England. The following table lists worst figures recorded by Indians in ODIs.
