- Sachin Tendulkar went past the milestone of 18000 runs in ODIs. He also made his 20th fifty-plus score in World Cups which is comfortably higher than the second placed Ricky Ponting, who has 11.
- India won their first game in Ahmedabad after four consecutive losses.
