Uttar Pradesh-Orissa match called off

No play was possible on the fourth day of the Orissa-Uttar Pradesh Ranji Trophy elite group match at Lucknow, with bad weather stopping UP's first innings in its tracks at the overnight score of 180 for six. Mumbai beat Bengal by nine wickets

After Sairaj Bahutule scalped his sixth wicket - Laxmi Rattan Shukla, for 52 - Mumbai chased down their target of 48 with casual ease, cantering home in 16.4 overs for the loss of just AA Velaskar. The nine-wicket win gave Mumbai two points from the encounter, one made possible largely by leggie Bahutule, who's second-innings haul of six for 67 off 30.4 overs hurried Bengal's demise to 179 all out.

Railways draw with Andhra Pradesh

Starting just where they left off at stumps on the third day, Raja Ali and Railways skipper Abhay Sharma ended up scoring 115 (188b, 8x4, 2x6) and 166 (196b, 16x4, 3x6) respectively, taking their side to a total of 505 for seven declared and ensuring a point from their first-innings lead.

After Railways eased past Andhra Pradesh's first-innings score and continued to bat, the game was always headed one way - towards a draw. Some excitement ensued when Andhra Pradesh found themselves at 48 for two, still a large way adrift, but M Suresh (52) and Y Venugopal Rao (91, 118b, 10x4, 1x6) ensured there were no further unpleasant surprises. Andhra Pradesh ended the day on 180 for three.

Kerala notch-up eight-wicket win

Vidarbha reached 248 after starting the fourth day on 123 for two, Sree Santh taking four wickets for 89 runs and spurring the collapse. That left Kerala just 150 runs to get for a win, and their in-form batting was never going to mess it up. First-innings centurion CM Deepak was dismissed early, but Sujith Somasunder and C Hemanth Kumar hit 75 and 60 respectively to help Kerala to an eight-wicket win and two points from the match.
