Hemang Badani, the former Indian batsman, has withdrawn his request for a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
Badani had sought an NOC - a mandatory requirement to represent another state of his choice - but the officials opposed it because he had already participated in the Buchi Babu tournament, an all-India invitational. The Buchi Babu is viewed by the TNCA as a selection tournament.
Badani, also part of Tamil Nadu's Ranji Trophy probable squad, took part in a practice session at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.
"I have given a letter to this effect [withdrawing earlier request] to the TNCA. The state has supported me all along, from my junior days," Badani told The Hindu. I have done well for Tamil Nadu in the past and am looking forward to performing even better this season. It was great to be back at the Chepauk and be with my mates."
"I had a talk with the TNCA officials and they were quite helpful," Badani added. "I have no issues with either the TNCA or the players."
