Women's cricket in Bangladesh has received a major boost with the announcement of the first domestic championship. Ten districts have signed up for the one-day competition which kicks off on January 27 with an opening ceremony in Mirpur and three matches across the country that day.
The championship will be divided into two groups of five, and the teams will play each other once, with the top two teams playing a semi-final on February 3. The winners of those matches will then compete for the title in the final on February 5. Each match will be 30 overs.
The competing districts are:
Group A Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Ansar VDP, Narayanganj
Group B Bhola, Rajshahi, Jahangirnagar University, Bogra, Rangamati
