Habibul Bashar is back at the helm of the Bangladesh team, after he was included in a 13-man squad for the first one-day international against New Zealand, which takes place at Chittagong on November 2.
Bashar missed the entire Test series after undergoing surgery on his broken right thumb, an injury that also caused him to miss the Champions Trophy in England in September.
He returns to the squad at the expense of Alok Kapali, while the left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr and the seamer Tareq Aziz Khan have also been released. Their places have been taken the former captain, Khaled Mahmud and the fast bowler, Nazmul Hossain.
New Zealand will be led by Daniel Vettori, who takes over from Stephen Fleming. He has flown home early after leading his side to a 2-0 victory in the Test series.
Bangladesh squad Habibul Bashar (capt1), Rajin Saleh, Khaled Mashud, Javed Omar, Khaled Mahmud, Mohammed Ashraful, Manzarul Islam, Tapash Baisya, Mushfiqur Rahman, Mohammad Rafique, Nafis Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Nazmul Hossain.
