Following is a summary on the basis on which the allocation were made by the ICC to the ACC for the development of Asian Cricket.

1. The ICC Knock Out Tournament is to be played 4 times in the next 7 years to raise funds for the development work of the ICC as it strides to globalize cricket.

2. Out of bundling of right sold to World Sport Group by the ICC, the ICC will get USD ($) 120 million for the next 7 years for the global development of the game.

3. The ACC had proposed a significant to the ICC to get 50% of the total net income for Asian Cricket - A critical area for the future of the game.

4. This amount approximately 45-50 million USD (Sri Lanka Rupees 4 billion) after expenses (less costs) to be set aside for the development work in the Asian Region.

5. The ACC proposal was approved at the Executive Board Meeting in Paris on the 25th June 2000.

6. The ACC then unanimously appointed Mr. Thilanga Sumithipala as the Chairman of the ACC Development Committee to take charge o this crucial project reconfirming the regard and recognition for his ability, technical knowledge and capacity to handle this fundamental area. The ACC acknowledge his incisive vision and solid progress made during his presidency of the ACC.

Specifically in the areas;

a) Coaching b) Umpiring c) Infrastructure development d) Proposed structure to decentralize the administration and create satellite governing entities.

7. The ACC unanimity in placing the future of Asian Cricket in Mr. Sumathipala's guiding hands given the enormity of the task is singularly significant and further indicative of the ICC's regard for the strength of significant and further indicative of the ICC's regard for the strength of Asian Cricket.
