Did Alec Stewart ever captain, keep wicket and open the batting in the same Test? If not, has anyone ever done this? asked Jake Parsons from London

Alec Stewart played in 133 Tests, keeping wicket in 82, opening in 45, and captaining in 15 ... but he never did all three in the same match. Three people have taken on this onerous triple responsibility, though: South Africa's Percy Sherwell, in seven Tests shortly before the First World War; Gerry Alexander of West Indies, in two Tests in Pakistan in 1958-59; and Pakistan's Imtiaz Ahmed, in three Tests between 1959-60 and 1961-62.

What's the record for most stumpings in a Test innings, and a match? asked Jim Trafford from Surrey

Both these records are held by India's Kiran More, who made five stumpings in the second innings and six in the match, against West Indies in Madras (now Chennai) in 1987-88. That was the Test in which the legspinner Narendra Hirwani marked his debut by taking 16 wickets for 136 runs, another record. How many people have scored 1000 runs and taken 100 wickets and 100 catches in one-day internationals? asked Sharad Maneckji from Kochi

Eight people have so far achieved this triple feat in ODIs: Viv Richards and Carl Hooper of West Indies, Australia's Steve Waugh, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly of India, Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya, and Jacques Kallis and Shaun Pollock of South Africa. Is it true that Anil Kumble holds the record for the most caught-and-bowled dismissals in Tests? asked Nitin Singh from the Bahamas

Before the Perth Test against Australia Kumble shared this record with Muttiah Muralitharan - both of them had 31 caught-and-bowleds, well clear of Shane Warne with 21. But Kumble took another one (Shaun Tait) at the WACA, which gives him the overall lead at the moment. For the full list, click here.

I was amused that the day after you wrote last week about Mike Hussey never being out without scoring in a Test, he was out for a duck. Ahead of the fourth Test, are there any other Aussies who have never been out for zero? asked Vivek Rajagopal from Delhi

Sorry to disappoint you, but the only members of Australia's current squad who haven't ever collected a Test duck are bowlers - Brad Hogg, Mitchell Johnson and Tait - apart from opener Chris Rogers, who made his debut at Perth and scored 4 and 15.

Rogers made his Test debut at the WACA, but he's already 30. Australia were always renowned for picking youngsters. Who was the last man to make his debut for them when he was over 30? asked Clem Williams from Leeds

It wasn't too long ago, actually - two of Rogers's Perth team-mates didn't wear the baggy green until they were 30 years old. They were Stuart Clark, who made his debut against South Africa at Cape Town in March 2006, and Michael Hussey, whose debut came against West Indies at Brisbane four months earlier. Rogers, by the way, was the 399th man to play a Test for Australia - so their next debutant will wear No. 400.
