Cricinfo spoke to Datadin last night and he confirmed that Gayle and Sarwan had notified Cable & Wireless of their decision. This was followed by a statement from him to the media.

Cable & Wireless then issued a statement today claiming that they were "not in receipt of any communication to that effect from their attorney and are working to separate fact from rumour."

But Cricinfo spoke to Datadin this morning and he said: "I have confirmed that I have sent by fax a notice of temination to the Cable & Wireless offices in Trinidad." That notification was sent around 5pm yesterday.

In view of this, it is expected that Cable & Wireless will retract their denial shortly.
